Lactation Program

Most mothers want to breastfeed. They want to give their babies the best. They want the loving bond of a breast feeding relationship. Sadly, too many mothers give up breastfeeding prematurely if they face challenges. At Advocates for Women’s Health we want to give you the assistance and support you need to be successful. That’s why we have a lactation specialist to help prevent, recognize and resolve breastfeeding problems, at a time when it really matters.

Tina Martin, LPN, IBCLC, RLC, provides our lactation services. Anyone can claim to be a “lactation consultant”, but Tina has the highly respected International Board Certified Lactation Consultant credentials. She has years of experience at both Norton and Baptist Hospital East as their lactation consultant. We welcome moms from all practices. Mothers who have elected to breastfeed often encounter obstacles which are discouraging but can be corrected with timely and knowledgeable intervention and support.
